This compact disk recording was made in 1994, by members of St. Louis
Shape Note Singers under the direction of Kathleen Thro to demonstrate the
wonderful songs of the Missouri Harmony. Note that this is not a "live"
recording, although it was recorded in the Des Peres Old Meeting House (built in 1834).
If you are looking for the driving force of a convention, then either
Glory in My Soul or More Songs from the Missouri Harmony may be your
preference. However, it has a clear sound and is an excellent presentation of the parts
of these tunes, particularly the dissonances that are a distinctive part of the Missouri
Harmony sound.
